La Salle ends elims on bright note

(UPDATED) DE La Salle University frustrated University of Santo Tomas (UST), 77-72, on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum to set up a potential playoff for the last Final Four berth against Adamson University in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 85 men's basketball tournament.

The Green Archers, who played without key guys Kevin Quimbao and Mike Phillips, finished the eliminations with a to 7-7 slate and, ironically, they needed their rivals Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles to beat the Soaring Falcons (7-6) to get that one last shot to make the semifinals.
