ERC okays DER rules to democratize grid

THE Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) approved the draft Rules for the Distributed Energy Resources (DER) geared toward promoting energy quality, reliability, security, affordability and sustainability in the Philippines.

In a statement on Monday, ERC said the approval is consistent with the policy of the state to accelerate the development of renewable energy (RE) toward reducing the country's dependence on fossil fuels and minimizing the exposure to price fluctuations in the international markets.
