EMPLOYEES in the city government of Tarlac have more reason to celebrate this season as another benefit is set to fill their pockets. Besides getting their year-end bonus and cash gift on November 15, the said employees will be receiving their performance-based bonus (PBB) for the fiscal year 2021 after the city government consistently passed the minimum local governance standards of Good Financial Housekeeping. The granting of PBB has been approved through Resolution 10-17-247, which was passed by the city council, in response to the request of the chief executive to adopt such a resolution that will support the giving of benefits to qualified officials and employees. A copy of the joint Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Department of Budget and Management Memorandum Circular 2021-01 prescribed the guidelines on the granting of the bonus. Based on the advisory of the DILG issued in October, the city government of Tarlac is included in the list of eligible local government units (LGUs) that may grant PBB. Aside from Tarlac City, nine other LGUs in the province were included in the said list, including the provincial government and the municipalities of Bamban, Capas, Gerona, Moncada, Paniqui, Pura, San Clemente, Santa Ignacia and Victoria.
