BAGUIO CITY: Mayor Benjamin Magalong has ratified a city council resolution commemorating the 25th anniversary of a sisterhood agreement between the cities of Baguio and Vaughn, Ontario, Canada, citing achievements reaped by both cities through mutual covenants. The resolution also commends the Filipino-Canadian Association of Vaughn for making this historical achievement happen. In November 1996, the international partnership was officially established between Baguio and Vaughn through another resolution that approved the sisterhood relationship, which during the last 25 years promoted social, cultural and educational exchanges between the two cities. In 2009, a delegation from Vaughn visited Baguio to participate in the celebration of the Summer Capital's centennial and inauguration of the Vaughn sister city marker at the Botanical Garden. Baguio's sisterhood and twinning ordinance commits to forge sister city ties with domestic and international cities of similar qualities through independent and mutual desires.
