CARDINAL Luis Antonio Tagle emphasized that the decision of Pope Francis to remove all Caritas Internationalis leaders was "not about sexual harassment or sexual abuse or mismanagement of money."

"The Holy Father's decision came after careful and independent study. There is no question of abuse or financial mismanagement. The work for the poor continues," Cardinal Tagle said during a plenary meeting in Rome on Wednesday where he read to participants the Pope's decree that ordered the appointment of a temporary administrator of Caritas Internationalis following a review of its operations by an independent panel.
