No tsunami alert in PH from magnitude 7.3 quake in Solomon Islands – Phivolcs

THE Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said on Tuesday that there was no tsunami threat to the Philippines following a magnitude 7.3 earthquake that occurred on Solomon Islands.

'There was nothing to worry as there was no tsunami threat to the country since it (Solomon Islands) is very far from us as there are many islands that blocked it,' Dr. Teresito 'Toto' Bacolcol, Phivolcs chief, told The Manila Times via Viber.
