Trump launches third WH bid amid problems

(UPDATED) PALM BEACH, Florida: Former United States president Donald Trump announced on Tuesday (Wednesday in Manila) that he would mount a third campaign for the White House, launching an early start to the 2024 elections.

The widely expected announcement comes a week after a disappointing midterm poll showing for Republicans that may force their party to decide whether to embrace a candidate whose refusal to accept defeat in November 2020 sparked an insurrection and pushed American democracy to the brink.
