Brazil's Lula, world leaders bolster UN climate talks

SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Egypt: United Nations climate talks got a boost on Wednesday as Brazilian President-elect Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva pulled his country back into the battle to curb warming and global leaders reaffirmed key pledges.

With Group of 20 (G20) leaders issuing a final communique committing to pursue the more ambitious limits on global heating, momentum at the 27th UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Egypt was generated on the sidelines of the fraught negotiations.
