MRT-3 privatization is a sensible idea

NEWS has emerged over the past week that the Department of Transportation (DoTr) is considering the sale of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) once the build, lease and transfer agreement with the Sobrepeña-led Metro Rail Transit Corp. expires in 2025. Although privatization of any public service can be problematic, shaking off what has become a millstone around the government's neck is the best course of action in this case.
