6 dead in Basilan clash

THE Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said three soldiers and three alleged members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) died during an encounter in Ungkaya Pukan, Basilan.

Lieutenant Colonel Abdurasad Sirajan, AFP Western Mindanao Command spokesman, said the three soldiers were from the 18th Infantry Battalion (18IB).
