PRESIDENT Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is mulling putting the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) under the direct supervision of the Office of the President to further streamline and hasten the government's response in times of disasters and calamities.

Marcos floated the idea during the commemoration of the ninth anniversary of Super Typhoon "Yolanda," which he tagged as an example as to why there needs to be ramped-up efforts when it comes to coming to the public's aid at the wake of a destruction.
