PUJ 'protest' strands commuters in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY: The stoppage of trips of almost 80 percent of the city's public utility jeepneys (PUJs) on Monday, November 7, confused commuters, most of whom were left stranded.

The Manila Times learned that drivers and operators of traditional passenger jeepneys with expired permits decided not to ply their routes to avoid being apprehended by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
