THE peso shrugged off news of a near 14-year inflation high, gaining 25 centavos to close at P58.55 to the dollar on the last day of a shortened trading week.
The currency opened at P58.80 then traded in the P58.34 to P58.89 range. Total volume was $1.109 billion, up from $847.7 million during the previous session.
