Tan tops women's chess semifinals

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Woman National Master (WNM) Mary Joy Tan, a village lass from Upper Jasaan, Misamis Oriental is an example of another grassroots talent shot into national prominence.

The 19-year-old Tan's hardwork and sacrifices, travelling to downtown Cagayan de Oro all year-round for training and tournament exposure, has finally paid off.
