Egypt president invites Brazil's Lula to COP27

Cairo, Egypt: UN climate summit host Egypt has invited incoming Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, whose victory over climate-sceptic Jair Bolsonaro has raised hopes for the battle against global warming.

Election officials in Brazil on Sunday declared leftist Lula won in a run-off against his far-right rival.
