SOME 15 years ago, a slew of Chinese car brands entered the Philippine market. Sadly, at that time, the Chinese car brands were not ready to challenge the dominance of the Japanese, American and European brands. Both quality and service were nonexistent for the Beijing-sourced models and so, the eventual flop.
Still, Chinese car companies went on and developed their brands, going as far as buying out failing European car brands if only to acquire the technology, people and experience of these older auto companies.
