The opera "Turandot," composed by Giacomo Puccini, takes center stage with a Gala on December 9 and a matinee on December 11 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The opera is presented by CCP, the Filipinas Opera Society Foundation Inc., and the Rustan's Group of Companies with the Embassy of Italy as a major sponsor,Distinguished Korean and Filipino singers such as soprano Lilla Lee, tenor James Lee, baritone Byeong in Park, and our very own soprano Rachelle Gerodias, among others will perform. Maestro Valetino Favoino conducts the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) along with choral ensembles of the Viva Voce Voice Lab. Meanwhile, members of the opera dance ensemble will come from the Alice Reyes Dance Philippines.Turandot is an opera in three acts by Giacomo Puccini, posthumously completed by Franco Alfano in 1926 and libretto by Giuseppe Adam.
