Brazil unemployment drops further ahead of key vote

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: Brazilian unemployment continued its downward trend, falling to 8.7 percent between July and September, according to official data released Thursday (Friday in Manila), three days before a crucial presidential election.

It was the lowest unemployment level in Latin America's biggest economy since the end of 2015, according to the IBGE statistics agency, which said there were now 9.5 million people without jobs in the country.
