Phillies top Padres to reach World Series

NEW YORK: Bryce Harper smacked the deciding home run in the eighth inning and the Philadelphia Phillies advanced to the World Series on Sunday (Monday in Manila) with a 4-3 victory over San Diego.

The Phillies reached Major League Baseball's playoff championship final for the first time in 13 years by defeating the Padres 4-1 in the best-of-seven National League Championship Series.
