THERE is optimism that Republic Act 11697 or the 'Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (Evida)' will foster more cooperation for the development of the local electric vehicle industry.

'Now that the implementing rules and regulations of Evida law are set, we count on public and private sectors to work hand-in-hand to make the switch to EVs faster,' Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) President Edmund Araga said in a statement during the opening of the two-day 10th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) from Oct. 20 to 21, 2022.
