Banana sector faces 'life-or-death decade'

ALBAY Second District Rep. Jose Ma. Clemente 'Joey' Salceda warned of a 'life-or-death decade' for the country's banana industry.

'If we don't act on the problems of the sector, we will lose our dominance over bananas in Asia by 2030,' the chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means and vice chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture and Food, said in a statement on Sunday.
