Korean Airlines plane overshoots Mactan-Cebu runway; flights canceled


Aviation authorities on Monday said that several flights bound for Cebu were canceled following the closure of the Mactan-Cebu airport runway due to a disabled aircraft of a foreign airline.

Reports said that Korean Airlines flight KE631 from Incheon, South Korea, with 162 passengers and 11 crew, was obstructing the runway after a landing incident which occurred late Sunday evening.

The report said that the aircraft, an Airbus A330-300, overshot the runway at past 11 p.m. Sunday and ended at the muddy portion of Runway 22.
