UP blanks MU, sweeps Pool A

UNIVERSITY of the Philippines blanked Mapua University, 25-19, 25-21, 25-11, to sweep its Pool A assignments in the Shakey's Super League Collegiate Pre-season Championship at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum on Saturday.

Jewel Encarnacion led UP with 13 points with 11 coming off spikes while Dannica Celis and Joan Monares delivered nine points each for the Fighting Maroons, who needed one hour and 19 minutes only to dispatch the MU Lady Cardinals.
