UP tops UST, wrests solo lead in standings

Defending champion University of the Philippines (UP) topped University of Santo Tomas (UST), 76-51, on Saturday at the Ynares Center to seize the solo lead in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 85 men's basketball standings.

With Cagulungan still out, Terrence Fortea once again stepped up with 14 points, three rebounds, and three assists to lead the way for the Fighting Maroons, who ended their first round campaign with three straight wins to rise to a 6-1 slate.
