PRESIDENT Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is committed to the protection and safety of members of the media in the country, Malacañang said Saturday, amid concerns over police visits to the private residences of some journalists.

Speaking at the conference initiated by Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos for the Philippine National Police (PNP) and national media organizations, Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) Cheloy Garafil said Marcos is fully aware of the vital role of journalists in nation building, saying that their welfare is of an utmost concern to government.
