THE municipalities of Matalam and M'lang in North Cotabato province have been declared "insurgency-free" after the dismantling of New People's Army (NPA) guerrilla fronts operating in the two areas.
1Lt. Michael Allan Eugenio, the Philippine Army's 90th Infantry Battalion civil-military chief, on Wednesday said the two towns were declared as free from NPA presence through Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Resolution 3 and SB Resolution 4 issued by the Matalam and M'lang municipal councils, respectively.
