THE National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) energized its new Calamba 230-kiloVolt (kV) substation and associated transmission lines, a major project to address continuing load growth or the growing demand for power, particularly in South Luzon.
In a statement on Thursday, the NGCP said the new substation is strategically located near industrial parks to accommodate demand in Laguna, Batangas and nearby provinces, benefitting mostly industrial customers, particularly factories, manufacturing plants and other big businesses in the eco-zones and industrial parks.
