DTI eyes more free trade deals

The signing of a Philippines-South Korea free trade deal next month will mark a push by the government to pursue similar arrangements with other countries, a Cabinet official said on Thursday.

In a panel discussion during The Manila Times' 124th anniversary forum, Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual said that his department was working on a number of free trade agreements (FTAs), including one with South Korea that reports have said could take effect next year.
