UAE insists: OPEC+ oil cut 'nothing political'

ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates on Tuesday insisted that the production cut announced this month by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and other major oil producers was not politically motivated against the United States.

The 13-nation, Saudi Arabia-led group and its 10 allies headed by Russia — collectively called OPEC+ — angered Washington by cutting production by two million barrels a day from November, adding further upward pressure on elevated crude prices.
