PALO, Leyte: All of Leyte province is set for the 78th Leyte Gulf Landings at the MacArthur Memorial Shrine here on October 20. Leyte Gov. Carlos Jericho Petilla has confirmed that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will grace the historic occasion as guest of honor and speaker. Petilla said he will welcome Marcos right at the MacArthur Shrine as the Chief Executive will be staying overnight in Tacloban City for the lighting activities of the San Juanico Bridge in Barangay San Juan, Sta. Rita, Samar on October 19. There were 39 living World War 2 veterans attending the commemorative program focused on this year's theme 'Peace Eternal: Lessons Learned from the Vestiges of World War 2.'
