LOCAL fish traders said that at least 20 container vans of imported fish from China arrive in the country every week and are allegedly being diverted to the wet markets.

In a radio interview, Association of Fresh Fish Traders of the Philippines President Roderick Santos said that under Fisheries Administrative Order (FAO) Number 195, the Department of Agriculture (DA), through the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), allows the importation of fish for processing, canning, and institutional use like restaurants and hotels.
