LAST-MINUTE bargain hunting allowed the Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) to end Wednesday up by 0.32 percent, or 19.67 points, to 6,148.31.
A lack of catalysts following Tuesday's rally back to the 6,000 level had the market trading mostly in the red on Wednesday, noted Claire Alviar, research associate at Philstocks Financial Inc. She added that staying above 6,000 would continue to be tested given weak market conviction.
