'Cybercrime's cost may hit over $10T by 2025'

NEW DELHI: Incidents of cybercrime and online child abuse are significantly underreported, and their global cost is expected to reach $10.5 trillion by 2025, according to the top official of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).

Addressing the media on Monday, a day before his agency's 90th General Assembly opened in India's capital New Delhi, Interpol Secretary-General Jurgen Stock said organized crime networks were making billions of dollars, and that less than 1 percent of global illicit financial flows were intercepted and recovered should be of greater concern to everyone.
