BAGUIO CITY: Mayor Benjamin Magalong ratified City Council Resolution 426-22, reiterating the request to the Department of Public Works and Highways-Cordillera Administrative Region and the City Engineering Office to coordinate and facilitate the clearing and relocation of all poles/posts located within the sidewalks of the Summer Capital. The resolution states that the August body has adopted various legislative measures for the removal or relocation of electric poles/posts, dangling cable wires, and other obstructions within roads/streets and sidewalks in the city of Baguio. 'Sidewalks were built, being repaired, and maintained for the safety of all pedestrians but poles/posts are seen occupying portions/spaces of sidewalks in Baguio which impede the flow of traffic and pose hazard and inconvenience to people/walkers who have to wait for their turn, go around the poles/posts or step down on the streets/roads to pass through these constricted sidewalks caused by poles/posts which need to be promptly and immediately relocated to other areas where it will not impede the flow of pedestrians,' the measure states. The resolution also states that a request is made to the city mayor to facilitate the speedy implementation of the aforesaid request, especially in areas frequently traversed by students.
