NEW DELHI: Police in India's northeastern state of Mizoram on Saturday foiled a massive smuggling bid and rescued 140 exotic birds and animals, officials said.

The bid to smuggle wildlife animals and birds was foiled by intercepting three vehicles in Champhai district, about 188 km east of Aizawl, the capital city of Mizoram.
