THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in partnership with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (Unido) and Switzerland's State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), have formally agreed to the establishment of the Global Quality and Standards Program Philippines (GQSP) with regards to the standards and conformity assessment for personal protective equipment (PPE) and other medical devices.

In the program's launch on Oct. 14, 2022, Swiss Ambassador to the Philippines Alain Gaschen, DTI Undersecretary-Competitiveness and Innovation Group Rafaelita Aldaba and Unido country representative Teddy Monroy each signed their respective commitment statements asserting their support for the program.
