Sen. Imee Marcos launches 'World Pandesal Day' celebration

Urges tackling 'Noche Buena Challenge' amid food inflation; talks entertainment with 'Himala's' 40th anniversary; and inducts SPEEd 2022

Senator Imee Marcos on October 14 distributed free Pandesal packs to principals and teachers of four public schools (Kamuning Elementary School, Quezon City High School, Tomas Morato Elementary School and Don Alejandro Roces Science High School) at a ceremony at Kamuning Bakery Cafe in Quezon City to kickstart the annual 'World Pandesal Day' celebrated every year on October 16. She also answered socio-economic, geopolitics and other questions from media at 'Pandesal Forum.'

Senator Marcos also officiated the induction of newly-elected officers of the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd) led by President Eugene Asis. Senator Marcos said that she hopes for arts and culture to flourish, especially the Philippine film industry, because Filipinos are artistically talented. She also said that this December 2022 is the 40th anniversary of the critically-acclaimed movie 'Himala,' which she produced under the Experimental Cinema of the Philippines (ECP). She added three artists involved in the 'Himala' film have become National Artists, musician Fides Cuyugan-Asensio, actress Nora Aunor and scriptwriter Ricky Lee.
