Child-bearing Filipino girls decline in 2021 – study

THERE has been a decline in the number of Filipino girls who became 'child-bearing' in 2021, according to a study released by the University of the Philippines Population Institute.

According to the 2021 Young Adult Fertility and Sexuality Study, only 386,000 Filipino girls ages 15 to 19 started getting pregnant, equivalent to 6.8 percent of the population among the age group.
