OVER the last month I have been reading a lot of articles on unrelated topics and areas but seem to have a recurring theme. It is the need to have disparate, unrelated and even contradictory skills and attributes not just co-exist but integrate for success in business, especially in tech.

There are articles I have read in the last few months from the Financial Times — "The Degrees Teaching Leaders to Translate Technology" (September 7), The Economist — "Why Economists are Flocking to Silicon Valley" (September 11) and from even earlier but I never got to discussing it — "Chief Executives are Weirder than Ever" (Nov. 21, 2021).
