TUCKED in a little corner of the University of the Philippines Engineering building is a newly created agency that aims to advance space science in the country.
The Philippine Space Agency (Philsa) was created under Republic Act 11363, or the "Philippine Space Act," signed by former president Rodrigo Duterte in 2019. It is tasked to be the "central agency of the government addressing all national issues related to space science technology and applications."
