Livestock industry grapples with ASF, avian influenza

FOR the government to protect the country's livestock industry, it should be a step ahead in preventing the spread of the African swine fever (ASF) and the avian influenza, Quezon Rep. Wilfrido Enverga said.

Enverga, chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture and Food, underscored the need for the Department of Agriculture (DA) and its attached agencies to be more prepared in stopping these diseases that continue to threaten the livestock industry.
