AS students start in-person classes, the Department of Education (DepEd) will focus on addressing learning gaps that have prevented schools from producing graduates who are competent, employable, and with character — targeted under the K to 12 curriculum — during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The DepEd is following the framework of the Basic Education Development Plan (BEDP) 2030 — a long-term program developed during the time former Education secretary Leonor Briones in consultation with partners and stakeholders — to address the education sector's challenges. Its five pillars are access, equity, quality, resiliency and well-being.
