Where's the fallout shelter?

ROUGH TRADE

I SPENT most of the weekend consuming news about the spectacular attack on the Kerch Strait Bridge, the 19-kilometer road and rail connection between the eastern end of the Crimean Peninsula and Russia. Most of the news was obviously wrong, of course; all that is known for certain is that at about 6 a.m. local time on Saturday, a large explosion seriously damaged the structure, knocking parts of one of its twin roadways into the water.

What, and who, was responsible for that was and still is a matter of wild conjecture, as the parties involved have reasons not to be completely forthcoming about what they may have been up to. Social media being what it is, however, there have been no shortage of theories; when it comes to the war in Ukraine, Twitter, Facebook and Reddit have the magical ability to turn an ordinary schlub into the next Clausewitz.
