POLITICIANS should stop using the recent murder of journalist Percy Lapid to score cheap publicity points. Everyone's priority right now should be to apprehend the killers, hopefully along with those who masterminded the assassination, and prosecute them in a court of law. Anything other than that is a distraction right now.

Last week, Mr. Lapid, a radio commentator whose real name was Percival Mabasa, was shot dead by two assailants on a motorcycle in Las Piñas City. An investigation is ongoing, and security video footage suggests that the shooting was intentional, rather than road rage.
