NEW ATTRACTION
by The Manila Times
Oct 06, 2022 12:03 am
The new Leyte Provincial Capitol building in Barangay Campetic, Palo, Leyte, shown in this photo taken on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, not only houses the provincial government of Leyte but it also one of the many tourist attractions in the Eastern Visayas island. It is a replica of the historic Leyte Provincial Capitol building in Tacloban City that served as the seat of Philippine Commonwealth government from Oct. 23, 1944 to Feb. 27, 1945. Former president Sergio Osmeña was inaugurated in the old Capitol building by Gen. Douglas MacArthur. PHOTO BY NESTOR L. ABREMATEA
