An agricultural group on Wednesday warned of looming shortage of canned sardines in November with the start of three-month fishing ban next month.

In an interview with The Manila Times, agricultural group Philippine Chamber of Agriculture and Food Inc. President Danilo Fausto said that starting November, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) will start the implementation of closed fishing season at the Visayan Sea on Nov. 1, 2022, followed by the Palawan Sea on November 15 and Zamboanga Peninsula on December 1.
