Group hails ERC ruling on SMC-Meralco rate petition

THE Power for People Coalition (P4P) said the decision of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) denying the petition of San Miguel Corp. (SMC) and the Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) for a rate increase is 'historic.'

The group claimed the two companies were seeking to pass on fuel costs to consumers despite a 'straight price' power supply agreement (PSA).
