Traders hit for buying palay at low prices after 'Karding'

AGRICULTURAL group Philippine Chamber of Agriculture and Food Inc. President Danilo Fausto said traders are taking advantage of the rice farmers hit by Super Typhoon Karding as buying price of palay reached as low as P13 per kilo.

In an interview with The Manila Times, Fausto said that while many farmers in Nueva Ecija were fortunate to save portion of their palay plantations, traders are buying their harvest at very low prices.
