National University Sta. Elena is one win away from the title after beating defending champion Cignal, 25-21, 20-25, 25-23, 25-18, in Game One of Spikers' Turf Open Conference best-of-three Finals on Thursday at the Paco Arena.

Michaelo Buddin uncorked 22 points and 18 excellent receptions to lead the way for the Nationals.
