Migrant workers dept paves way for job opportunities for OFWs

THE newly-created Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), which will become fully operational in 2023, is now laying the ground work that will pave the way for job opportunities for Filipino workers, as economies around the world start to pick up after a two-year slump, marked by strict lockdowns and travel and mobility restrictions to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.

Migrant Worker Secretary Susan Ople said that as head of the department that oversees the interest and welfare of the country's modern day heroes, she is very optimistic that demand for skilled, non-skilled, semi-skilled and professional workers is on the rise, particularly in traditional destination countries of Filipinos.
